[Users] Configuring IP with OpenVZ

Hello,

 According to openVZ wiki, you should configure IP with vzctl; see:
 http://wiki.openvz.org/Virtual_Ethernet_device#Adding_veth_to_a_CT

I saw that this can also be done with ifconfig, when using ip command,
with "ip link add type veth", using iproute2 with the following patch:

http://lxc.sourceforge.net/network/configuration.php

I do not know much about openVZ: my question is:
is there difference between the two methods?
is using vzctl is better than using the ip command as described above ?
