Initially I thought about plain -t postfix (from 'template' word), but it
appeared to be too much short, image-t.c, image-t.h, protobuf-t.c, protobuf-t.h.

Maybe -comm would suite better? Say image-comm.[c|h], protobuf-comm.[c|h], since
these are common parts as for crtools itself and cpt2 tool, ie external tools.
