<div dir="ltr">Yes, this is my concern.<br><br>As we move forward, we are always evaluating what are the safest bets, and while I've favored openvz/virtuozzo since 2011, alternatives such as proxmox are looking increasingly viable, given the fact that openvz development appears to be stagnant.<br><br>At present, openvz has features that are superior to those in proxmox, if they exist at all. Hopefully that lead won't be squandered.<br><br>As I've mentioned before, my personal use of openvz led directly to the adoption of virtuozzo for our Linux infrastructure at a previous large employer, and I'd hate to see the free version wither away into irrelevance. <br><br>Jake<br><br><br><br>Jake</div><br><div class="gmail_quote"><div dir="ltr" class="gmail_attr">On Sun, Dec 11, 2022 at 11:22 AM Jehan PROCACCIA <<a href="mailto:jehan.procaccia@imtbs-tsp.eu">jehan.procaccia@imtbs-tsp.eu</a>> wrote:<br></div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0px 0px 0px 0.8ex;border-left:1px solid rgb(204,204,204);padding-left:1ex"><div><div style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;font-size:12pt;color:rgb(0,0,0)"><div>Hello<br></div><div><br></div><div>indeed , we also use openvz7 (free virtuozzo) and are wondering what is best to install new servers hypervisors with , openvz8 or 9 ? </div><div>is it not because we use free openvz that we don't support the virtuozzo businness, although we are a public school we do purchase a few virtuozzy hybrid server licences in order to participate to the maintenance and developpement of these great products . <br></div><div>please let us know if we did the right choice ? <br></div><div><br></div><div>Regards . <br></div><div><br></div><div><span style="font-size:9pt"><em><strong>Jehan PROCACCIA</strong></em></span><br><span style="font-size:9pt"><em>Ingénieur systèmes et réseaux</em></span><br><span style="font-size:9pt"><em>Directeur Technique réseau REVE : </em></span><br><span style="font-size:9pt"><em>Réseau d’Évry Val d'Essonne</em></span><br><span style="font-size:9pt"><em>Équipe THD (TSP/RST) </em></span><br><span style="font-size:9pt"><em>01 60 76 44 36</em></span></div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div><br></div><hr id="m_-1407106163818799682zwchr"><div><b>De: </b>"jjs - mainphrame" <<a href="mailto:jjs@mainphrame.com" target="_blank">jjs@mainphrame.com</a>><br><b>À: </b>"OpenVZ users" <<a href="mailto:users@openvz.org" target="_blank">users@openvz.org</a>><br><b>Envoyé: </b>Dimanche 11 Décembre 2022 19:34:58<br><b>Objet: </b>Re: [Users] Status of OVZ 8 & 9<br></div><div><br></div><div><div dir="ltr">Hello all,<br><div>Is it safe to say that openvz 7 is essentially the end of the line in terms of an effective, free openvz solution?
