I think I had a single kernel panic during hundreds of live-migrations
over the years. And that really was such a strange corner case that I
just shrugged it off as "sh*t happens": Ancient self rolled OpenVZ
kernel on the source node and such. Which was kinda asking for trouble
in first place. :p

The closer one stays to recommended, tested and supported environments
the less problems one typically has in the long run.
