[Users] Issues with kernel upgrade on Debian Wheezy

I am in a similar situation using this version:
   linux-image-2.6.32-openvz-amd64     042stab084.26

I was under the impression I need to remove the openvz kernel and packages
then reinstall.  Any guidance to the contrary would be appreciated.
