I assume it doesn't have 64 bit processors installed?  If it does, you
might want to switch to the 64 bit kernel, as it's better tested.

What are your symptoms of the "stall", let's assume it's deadlocked
processes - you should find out what the processes are blocked on (e.g.
using the top 'WCHAN' column).

You can get some state info out of the kernel with:


echo 'T' > /proc/sysrq-trigger
echo 'W' > /proc/sysrq-trigger

etc.

Probably best to open a Debian kernel bug, as the OpenVZ team don't
support the Debian kernels.

You might want to try the official OpenVZ kernels, and see if the
problem still occurs.
