A good starting point is

IMHO the most "critical" resource settings are
kmemsize (bytes) : Max size of kernel memory used by VE
privvmapges (pages): Max number of "private" memory pages used by VE
shmpages (pages): Max number of pages for shared memory segments

and additionally the quota and number of inodes for a VE.
