See vzctl man page, subsection "Checkpointing and restore", like:

1) checkpoint container:
# vzctl chkpnt <CTID> [more-options]

2) restore container:
# vzctl restore <CTID> [more-options]

Btw. vzmigrate use this feature for zero-down time migration.
