Ok, as suggested in the other posting will try the apm module...

It's for someone else whom I donated my old mainboards.
He wants to rent and administer his own public VPS.
I told him that he can try and learn it first at home 
on the old HW I had sent him, including iptables, 
b/c network security is very important in such an hostile environment 
like the internet (ie. hack attempts, spammers etc.).
>From my own experience it takes some weeks/months before
a newbie can use and administer a Linux VPS, especially when 
he/she comes from the Windows camp...  :-)
