[Devel] missing udev events

Hi all,

I have observed a quite strange problem here. After starting a container 'udevadm settle' hangs. Seems that we lose some udev events somewhere.

oahu:~# cat /dev/.udev/uevent_seqnum
2201
oahu:~# cat /sys/kernel/uevent_seqnum
2201
oahu:~# udevadm settle

So everything is OK so far - now starting a container

oahu:~# vzctl start 105
Starting container ...
Container is mounted
Adding IP address(es): 192.168.3.105
Setting CPU units: 1000
Setting CPUs: 1
Configure meminfo: 262144
Set hostname: ub8.example.com
File resolv.conf was modified
Setting quota ugidlimit: 0
Container start in progress...

oahu:~# cat /dev/.udev/uevent_seqnum
2201
oahu:~# cat /sys/kernel/uevent_seqnum
2212

This indicates that there are new events

oahu:~# udevadm settle

But this waits forever (util we get a timeout).

I observer that with the ubuntu hardy kernel (2.6.24).

Any ideas?

- Dietmar
