Hi Subham,
It is great to see that you have an interest in CRIU. I will try to
summarize below the information about further steps to participate in
Google Summer of Code 2019 with CRIU.
1. Read/review the following guides:
- GSoC Student Guide: https://google.github.io/gsocguides/student/
- GSoC FAQs: https://developers.google.com/open-source/gsoc/faq
- Timeline: https://developers.google.com/open-source/gsoc/timeline
Note that there are three important dates for the application process:
- March 25, 2019 18:00 UTC - Applications open for students
- April 9, 2019 18:00 UTC - Deadline for students to apply
- May 6, 2019 18:00 UTC - Accepted student proposals announced
2. Review the list of project ideas:
https://criu.org/Google_Summer_of_Code_Ideas
3. Ideally, before applying for a GSoC idea you should contact the
respective mentor(s) for the idea to discuss the idea, its requirements
and so on. A good application will require the following items:
- Present yourself.
- Explain what you want to achieve.
- How do you plan to achieve it?
- Why should we choose you?
4. The responsibilities as a student are:
- Communicate with your mentor weekly or more often.
- Post some patches during community bonding period.
- Write blog posts about your work.
A nicely summarized list of student responsibilities is available in the
GSoC Student Guide.
Best wishes
Radostin
