Yes. If criu check doesn't say 'looks OK' then criu can fail at some point.
This behavior is over-optimistic, in 2.x versions we've fixed it to be
less strict about the kernel.

By older you mean which version? Simplest tasks require 3.11 kernel, more
complex stuff might need newer one.
