I'd love to have this functionality as well, really. The problem is that I've
never worked with X and have very basic understanding of how it works. Neither
I have enough free time to work on that, at least in the nearest future :(

That said, for now I expect that someone contributes this functionality to the
project. On my side I'm ready to help with whatever is required from the kernel
and crtools side.
